market spotlight mittens

I sat down and was shocked that I hadn’t made any mittens yet, so I decided to try my hand at

them! These are one size fits most adults, but it’s easily customizable. You can add or remove

two rows from before the thumb hole and after the thumb hole and make them longer or shorter

for whatever you need! They work up quickly and are a simple 1 row repeat for most of the

mitten. I hope you enjoy it!

Things you’ll need:

❏ 210m of worsted weight yarn. I used Lion’s Brand Ferris Wheel

❏ US 6mm (J) hook

❏ Scissors

❏ Yarn needle

Stitches and techniques to know:

● ch - Chain

● dc - Double Crochet

● sc - Single Crochet

● sl st - Slip Stitch

● fpdc - Front Post Double Crochet

● bpdc - Back Post Double Crochet

Some notes:

● When starting a round, you may find it easier to place a stitch marker in the chain space.

This will help you, especially with the ch 1 rounds.

● When joining to the first stitch, make sure it’s the first stitch and not the chains you

made. This will ensure you have a seam that is barely visible.

● The first stitch will be tricky to work into for each row. It helps to twist your hook and

catch it with the hook part and then twist your hook once you’re through the stitch. Then

you can sc like normal.

● When you work your fpdc on the cuff, on the first stitch it helps if you fpdc around both

the stitch and the chain 2 from the row before. This will ensure you have a minimal

seam.
